Golf Cart Policy Changes
January 16, 2008

 Dear Tierra Oaks Member:

Here at The Golf Club Tierra Oaks we take pride in providing our members and their guests with a quality golf course to enjoy. It is with this pride that we encourage and ask for proper compliance to all cart rules on that given day. The course superintendent may close sections of the course to traffic or the entire course may be on "cart paths only" due to rain or cultural practices. It is very important that the entire membership realize the importance of this issue.

We are sending this letter to make you aware that adherence to the posted cart rules is mandatory. Please follow all cart path signage and directions. This includes driving carts within the ropes and respecting any signage on the golf course. We are also going to ask for you to provide a valid California handicap card to receive a handicap flag to access the rough and other off limit areas. We do not have a marshal on the course so we are going to ask that any member, guest, or employee look out for offenders and report them to the golf shop.

First violation will be a verbal warning. Second violation will be a letter sent stating that you have been seen by an individual violating a policy. The third violation will be suspension of cart privileges for a period no less than 30 days. We also want to inform the membership that riders must pair up when playing in the same group. Those who choose not to pair up and ride alone will be charged a $10 single rider fee without notice. Excessive cart use causes increased traffic on the golf course as well as increased labor in order to clean the extra carts. Thank you in advance for your cooperation.

Sincerely,
